Situated approx 5 miles from the City of York, Minster Alpacas is a small family run business. Originally specialising in ornamental ducks and geese, in 2006 we decided to diversify into alpacas with the purchase of 2 pregnant females and a wether.

From then on we became hooked and are gradually expanding our herd...

For us, it has been an exciting project and a steep learning curve that we have undertaken together. It has been a good experience for us as a couple to have adopted this challenging and exciting lifestyle. Our background is primarily science based and we still work in a local laboratory to support our alpacas, but hopefully when the alpacas start paying their keep, we will be able to devote more time to them.

Once we have achieved our core breeding herd, we aim to offer affordable, high quality BAS registered alpacas for sale. We may be persuaded to part with animals before then, but in the mean while, we are offering the services of our elite Stud Mirage and also our black boy Piers.

The pictures are of our daughter Callia who absolutely loves the alpacas and they love her too! She enjoys feeding them and measuring out equal portions of food for each one and always wants to name the babies after her friends at nursery! She is able to manage some of the friendliest alpacas whilst on a halter and even cuddle them.
