The Minster Alpacas (formerly CSL Differdange),
sponsored by a small family run business (Minster Alpacas - Simon
Morris), play in 2 competitive leagues at ROKO, Playfootball at
Clifton Moor, York.
We play on Monday and Thursday evenings on fully fl oodlit 5-a-side
and 6-a-side pitches and with FA qualified referees. Monday we play
in the famous red Alpaca kit (“stud service available”) and in our
old CSL green and white colours on a Thursday. The teams are
player/managed by Simon Morris and George (Rafa) Watola. We are
currently considering entering a team in a Tuesday league too.
We used to play at Huntington in a 6-a-side league (2005-2009) and
reached the dizzy heights of 5th one season. Some sixty players
turned out for us during this time, with stalwarts Mike Dickinson,
Simon Morris and Steph Mclorinan being constants. There is a general
kick-around (melee) still on Wednesdays (6-7 pm) at Huntington which
we use for practice and fitness.
We are currently competing in: Monday Sixes Premiership - 30 minute
games (currently in 2nd place after 5 games!) and Thursday
Championship - 40 minute games (currently in 1st place after 10
games -10 wins!)

There are also regular Cup competitions to partake in and an annual
summer
charity cup competition at Huntington school. We sometimes take part
in Civil
Service competitions and have gone as far as Newcastle and London in
our
quest for glory.
